Event Merchandise Group (EMG) Privacy Policy

This policy aims to provide to employees, potential employees and customers information on the collection, use, security and disclosure of personal information.

EMG recognises the importance of protecting privacy when dealing with personal information and is bound by the principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cht).

This privacy policy relates to personal information we collect through our website, job websites, recruitment firms acting on our behalf, advertising in media/other channels and through direct application. It also applies to information collected from customers.

Information Collected

EMG may collect and store ‘personal information’ about you that is in your resume and application or customer orders.

Personal information we receive and store will include but is not limited to recruitment and employment details such as name and contact details, employment history, skills, education, qualifications, nationality, languages, professional associations, memberships or accreditations and banking details and tax file number. For customers this information will include credit card, banking details and postal details.

During any recruitment process additional information may be collected through interview, testing, assessment, medical, criminal and working visa checks and reference checking.


Use and Disclosure of Information

EMG will collect and store information for the purpose of recruitment and to supply customers or other such purposes as communicated to you.

If you are successful in obtaining employment with EMG, your application and related information including personal information will be part of your employment record. If your application is unsuccessful all information submitted or collected will be destroyed within two months of the conclusion of the selection process, unless informed otherwise.

Personal information will not be used for any other purposes without consent, other than where required by law.

EMG may disclose personal information to third parties to recruit or fulfil customer orders. Disclosure to third parties of your personal information will occur only with your approval. You give this approval when submitting an application or customer order and clicking the “I Agree” button.

Information will not be disclosed to third parties for purposes not related to recruitment or fulfilment of customer orders.

EMG will also use your personal information to communicate with you by means which may include telephone, email, post, fax and SMS if and when required.
